less talkey more drivey (cheap car audio)

teeheehee

"Acquaintance, what is the current location of my automobile?" ("dude, where's my car?")

"Kindly actuate your cranium out of the way of the imminent projectile that will be discharged from my firearm shortly. I must note, however, that this assertion is delivered with an inflection of sarcasm under the pretence that your endeavour in this regard will prove fruitless due to the prerequisities of dexterirty required for such an effort" ("Dodge this." *BLAU*)

Who would have thought running a car was that expensive? I guess it's the once a year lumpsums you have to pay- insurance, rego. That being said, one would think I would be reluctant to spend more money on a car that has been eating up my entire paycheck for the past month or so. Actually, I guess I am. I wanted to put in a mp3 cd tuner... but now that I think about it... it's a bit too expensive if you add everything up.

Here's the evolution of audio in my Corolla
Radio: Wheeee! Groove 101.7, Nova 93.7
However, it's not always music... there's also news reports and stuff. I once heard a discussion (can't remember which station) about how some scientists managed to get a single egg cell (ova?) to divide... That's just creepy. If my predictions based on crazy anime plots are correct, feminazi's will kill off everyone, and "clone" themselves...
Cassette: Dumping music onto a cassette. Time consuming when recording the music. Also had to be careful not to make the computer make other noises when recording. It also sucked when I had the volume from the computer too loud, distorting the recording.
MP3 tuner: This sucker is going to be expensive. $250 for the unit, additional $300 set aside for speakers and amp. After a quick visit to ebay, I've decided to take a cheaper option.
MP3 player car kit: Griffin iTrip thingy that can be used for other players: $80. Generic ugly fm transmitter: $40. Generic on ebay: $20. But since they suck, cassette adaptor it shall be. Car charger for zen micro from Creative: $80. ebay: $5.

Realising that minimum age for registering and using ebay is 18: priceless.
